Bone Density and Body Composition assessed using the gold standard in testing technology.
Bone density is a critical factor in a total health assessment. It is estimated that 8 million women and 2 million men have osteoporosis and more than 30 million more people are at risk. Bone density loss and the risk of injury is commonly accepted as a condition of aging. You can take charge and know what you are made of right now, using the most advanced and trusted scanning technology available. Full body composition is more than just height and weight ratios. It’s a key indicator of your current state of health and wellbeing and a window into your future.
WHAT AM I TESTING?
How much mineral you have in your bones. Your score – a T-score or Z-score (used for specific gender and age groups) indicates if your bone density is normal, low or you have osteoporosis. The device generates two x-ray beams and measures how much of each x-ray passes through bone. The difference between the readings determines the extend of bone loss.
Precise data makes the DexaScan an important piece of intelligence in your quest for an elevated state of health and wellbeing. Testing every year is recommended, charting positive impacts on bone density and body composition achieved as you apply your prescription to live better longer.
DexaScan / DPX IQ: as you lay comfortably on a soft raise table, the scanning arm precisely moves up your body, using low-dose x-rays to measure bone density and body composition. Dexa is short for dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. The images and data are captured in the scanning software and displayed on a computer monitor for immediate and historical review.
